Welcome
Bruce C. Sdunek is an American fine art photographer and printer with over sixty years of experience. His work has been exhibited in galleries around the United States. Bruce learned his craft, first from his Father, and then by viewing the work of others in museums and galleries and through trial and error in the field and in his darkroom. He has also read extensively on the success of other photographers and their processes. Bruce received his first camera at age eight, from his Grandfather. He immediately, under his Fathers guidance, began processing and printing his photos.

Bruce does all of his own black & white processing, preferring film to digital. It is important to him that his hands be involved in the printing process. He prints on conventional gelatin silver as well as hand coated paper using various processes. Bruce believes that tripping the shutter is only the first step in the creation of a finely crafted print. At each phase of the process new opportunities for discovery and expression arise.

Color may be from film or digital cameras, although Bruce prefers film. Just enough processing is done in Photoshop to achieve his vision. Prints are on fine quality paper using archival inks.

Handmade prints ordered directly from me are mounted and framed using acid-free materials. These prints may be 11 X 14 or smaller. Prints may also be ordered only mounted and matted. Please call or e-mail with your request.

Digital prints may be ordered directly from this site which are copies of the originals. You can choose the size and mounting.

Please call or e-mail me with your requests.

If it were easy to talk about, I'd be a writer. Since I'm inarticulate, I express myself with images.

Thanks for inviting me to view your work. I especially like the B/W, Alternate Process and Plant Series. Yes, very different than mine, but you have much experience on me (but not much age on me!). I'll be back from time to time to see what you are up to.

Very nice work, Bruce. It was also nice of you to mention your Dad in your bio. I remember Lou and I hanging around his darkroom from time to time at the farm. Great memories. I look forward to seeing more of your work in the future.

I really like you qwork, especially the work with tthe old Mamiya Super 23! I have one and a few backs I have gathered over the past few years. I love that old horse. Need a few more lenses. I have only a 127 and a 100, but both are superior performers. Want a wide angle. Do only B&W as its the real deal for me. Keep up the gret work and never stop.
